Our signature floral experience at Flourish Flower Farm

There’s nothing quite like spending time among the flowers. Our On the Flower Farm Workshop is a three-hour immersive experience that invites you to soak in the beauty of the season, learn the basics of floral design, and enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at how a working flower farm operates.

On the Flower Farm Workshops begin with a farm tour, where you’ll walk the flower fields and learn about the varieties we grow at Flourish, how we succession plant for continual harvests, and what’s blooming at that moment in the season. Then, you’ll gather for a hands-on floral design session using fresh-picked, farm-grown & seasonal blooms. With Niki’s expert guidance, you’ll create a garden-inspired arrangement to take home. Guests will design with the same premium flowers we use in weddings and editorial work.

Thoughtfully curated refreshments and beautiful surroundings round out this flower-filled afternoon. This is a perfect experience for anyone who wants to visit a flower farm, learn floral design, and connect with seasonal beauty in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Designing with the Seasons Workshops

If you're drawn to the creative side of flowers, our Designing with the Seasons Workshop is for you. Our 90-minute floral design class is all about exploring color, shape, and texture through the lens of what’s blooming right now.

Each workshop centers around a featured flower – think ranunculus or peonies in spring and dahlias in summer and fall – paired with a lush array of supporting blooms and foliage. You’ll learn how to build a balanced, expressive floral arrangement using sustainable mechanics and natural, garden-style techniques that highlight movement and form. Niki shares tips from her years as a floral designer, guiding you through every step.

Held on our covered porch overlooking the flower farm, we welcome all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. It’s also a great choice for locals or travelers seeking a unique flower class near Asheville or a seasonal creative experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Floral Design Essentials

A full-day workshop for aspiring floral designers

Ready to go deeper into your floral journey? Our Floral Design Essentials Workshop is a one-day intensive designed to build both your skills and your confidence. Whether you’re exploring flower arranging as a creative outlet or you’re a florist yourself, this class will give you a strong foundation in our signature style.

Over the course of the day, you’ll learn the art of designing two essential floral designs: a lush hand-tied bridal bouquet and a large-scale foam-free arrangement using sustainable floral mechanics. You’ll learn techniques for movement, color balance, and texture, along with receiving personal feedback from Niki throughout the day. A professional photographer will capture your work, so you’ll leave with portfolio-quality images to document your growth or jumpstart your brand – or just beautiful keepsakes from the day. 

We’ll break for a delicious catered lunch and spend the day surrounded by flowers, creativity, and connection. No experience is necessary! Just a love of beauty and a willingness to learn.

Flower Farming 101

If you’ve ever dreamed of growing flowers for a living, this is the workshop that can help make it real. Flower Farming 101 is our most comprehensive offering: a two-day, in-person course that covers the practical, business, and seasonal aspects of starting and running a flower farm.

We’ll cover everything to learn how to grow cut flowers, from soil prep, seed starting, and succession planting to proper harvest techniques and efficient post-harvest handling. You’ll also dive into the business side of farming—learning about pricing, sales outlets, social media strategies, and the logistics of building a successful, sustainable flower farm. And because we host the workshop during our growing season, you’ll see Flourish Flower Farm in action.
