Floral Design Essentials

If you are looking for an experience that focuses solely on flower arranging and floral design, this is the class for you! This full day class includes detailed instruction for designing hand-tied bouquets + creating a large scale arrangement (May) or an installation (August). A delicious catered lunch is included as well as photography of your completed designs, which is a great way to build your portfolio.

If you have already attended one of our workshops or a private session, this class will take your design skills to the next level and give you more in-depth experience with new methods of floral design. Our flower experiences are simply about inspiring your creativity, having fun, learning floral design skills and enjoying the picturesque flower farm. No prior experience or attendance to a prior workshop is necessary!

What will you experience?

We'll begin our time together in the morning with a quick overview of floral design principles and color theory. Then, Niki will demonstrate how to design a hand-tied bridal bouquet (which has many more uses than just a bridal bouquet!). We will have a huge display of flowers and foliage for you to begin designing your own bouquet, with one-on-one support and guidance throughout the entire process! After a catered lunch, we will design large scale arrangements (May 5) or an arbor-style installation (August 3). You can also stroll through the fields and snip to your heart’s content. We intentionally limit attendance so that the entire experience is personal and intimate.

Our goal is for you to express your creativity using flowers and enjoy the view of our farm. If you are planning a DIY wedding, this is a great way to gain some skills to use in designing your own wedding flowers. No prior experience necessary! 

What's included?

We provide a delicious catered lunch made with seasonal, locally grown ingredients. Beautiful, farm-grown flowers (so many flowers!) and all tools, supplies, a keepsake vase and photography of your designs are provided. Class runs from 9am-4pm.

We do not maintain a waitlist & each year our workshops sell out quickly. All purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable; open to participants ages 12+. Our workshops are limited to a small number of participants and the entirety of the workshop will take place outdoors, rain or shine. We adhere to CDC and Buncombe County guidelines regarding COVID-19. A note about safety: Your safety on the farm is paramount and we ask guests to remain on marked paths and follow all instructions from farm staff. Flourish Flower Farm is a working farm with uneven terrain and other risks. We want you to enjoy the experience fully and to remain safe at all times.
